Bethany and I recently experienced what it’s like to enjoy your inheritance while your parents are still around.
When we were celebrating my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary (that they paid for), I realized that this was way more memorable than getting a lump sum check. Spending time with my entire family, watching my parents snorkel with my kids, hours with my siblings doubled over in laughter — money can’t bring that deep down joy.
Don’t believe us?
Here’s 4 reasons to spend your kids inheritance now:
- You only live once – go ahead and embrace what you’ve worked so hard to earn. Make this the best time of your life.
- Your kids will spend it quickly – According to the Wall Street Journal, most people spend their inherited funds, no matter the amount, very quickly.
- Use the money to build memories – who cares about the stuff. It’s just stuff. Your kids will remember the adventures.
- Invest in your health – we’re talking both physical and emotional.

Even though we joke about our kids not liking it, we really do believe that they’d rather have the memories with us. What do you think? Leave a comment below.
Now go. Have some fun spending your kids inheritance!
